Harry Dalton qualified in Medicine in London in 1983. He was awarded a DPhil in mucosal immunology from the University of Oxford in 1992 and elected FRCP in 1998. Dr Dalton worked as a Clinical Gastroenterologist in Cornwall for nearly 25 years and has studied HEV for over a decade. He has written 130 peer-reviewed papers and 40 chapters/reviews, mostly on HEV, including several in high impact journals, including the Lancet, New England Journal of Medicine and Nature Neurology Reviews. Dr Dalton was a panel member on HEV for WHO’s Global Burden of Disease project and advisor to the Food and Drug Administration (safety of blood products), Washington, USA in 2012. He is an external expert advisor to the MSF and was a member of European Centre for Disease Prevention and Control expert group on HEV. In 2014 was appointed to the Editorial Board of Journal of Hepatology. He has recently retired from clinical medicine but continues his interest in HEV.
